Ashley and her dad danced their father-daughter dance right after the bride and groom’s first dance. It was beautiful and fun with a few extra spins that I normally see but only after the father-of-the-bride speech I have fully appreciated how touching it was. They have practiced their dance since Ashley was so little that she stood on his feet!! How special is this?! And that wasn’t the only special and beautiful thing about this beautiful Knowlton Mansion wedding. Best man’s speech was pretty touching too! It was super funny first but the conclusion was pretty special. From his words, Kevin had gone in his life through a few stages and had interests in investing his life in bonkers first, then guns, then hammers…. (their wedding guests will understand) but he has never been thinking of marrying and planning a family. Well, Ashley’s powers completely changed this in him. The thing that stayed the same though that he LOVES his fitted suits :). And yes, he looked pretty sharp wearing his favorite kind of clothes! And Ashley looked absolutely stunning in her dress and with her cathedral veil!
One other favorite part of the wedding for me were Ashley’s grandparents! They have been married for 76 years!!!! How special is this?!!! And I was lucky enough to capture the moment of their arrival to Knowlton Mansion as we were walking inside after bridal party photos. So we pretty much we were able to have a first look with them – with grandpa first right outside the venue, and then with grandma. Those hugs and kisses were so sweet! But even sweeter for me was to watch them all the the day, how they giggled at each other and other people, and how they danced during the reception fun! I am very sure that grandma can’t walk so her husband basically held her in his arms for those dances. He didn’t look as strong as he apparently is! But those moments literally melted my heart!
Another special thing about this special day? I know, all brides and grooms are excited to see each other and get married BUT everyone expresses it differently and in some people the emotions just burst through them! Well, Kevin and Ashley are those people where the excitement can’t be hidden!!!! Tell me what you think – can you see their excitement especially during the first look and then ketubah signing? It was seriously the best to see how much they are into each other and how eager they are about this new stage of life! I hope you enjoy looking these few moments from their special day and also admire beautiful wedding decor that Ashley’s mom designed, and the amazing wine cellar with wine tasting at the Knowlton Mansion and just the whole joyful vibe of the day despite rainy weather!
