Lauren and Jesse’s wedding plans were affected by the pandemic just like all of the weddings in 2020. They were supposed to have a wedding ceremony and celebration at the Ridgeland Mansion but that had to be postponed. They didn’t want to wait to get married until the next year so they tied the knot in a very intimate ceremony with only their immediate families present. And can I just say how much I love elopements and intimate weddings! Everything felt cozy, and familiar, and even if it was out of routine there was no rush because it really didn’t matter if we can be a few minutes late (well, actually on a bigger wedding days it also doesn’t matter if we are a few minutes late but somehow having more people there feels like more pressure to have it all done perfect). And that’s why I love small events SO SO much because it feels like there is no pressure to perform or do anything special. Just be. Just get married. Just enjoy the moment. And photographing it also makes it more joyful and in a moment. And not only was it so so beautiful emotionally but also AMAZING style and decor wise. Lauren and Jesse have the taste that I appreciate so so much. Every small detail in their attire as well as the decor was literally impeccable. As you scroll through the photos you will see it. The mix of modern, simple and vintage elements is so perfect to create that relaxed and at the same time fancy vibe for an intimate wedding.
For the planning details, most of the things were implemented by the bride and groom and their families. Lauren’s mom did her hair. Lauren did her own make up. They rented this charming Airbnb to host everything. The most fresh and lush flowers came from WholeFoods and arranged by Lauren and the family. And all the dinnerware came from Lauren’s mom’s home. As you can see that most of the details were DIY and that made the day even more meaningful and less commercial. It was so so special to be a part of that day and be able to capture AND experience that day! I hope you enjoy being a small part of it too and stay tuned for the photos of the BIG and not less beautiful celebration exactly a year later. And you are in for a treat because by then Lauren and Jesse will have a special guest there to celebrate their 1st wedding anniversary! Their 6 week old son Jack was there to join us for the party!!
