A few days ago I had an honor to photograph Laura’s family again. These are not only a set of updated family photos but also photos that capture the milestone in their family too! Laura is pregnant with their fifth child and this was also a maternity session for them. Talk about mom goals here! Growing family, prospering career and even time for photo sessions! If you are not familiar with Laura’s work you are missing out. She is a time-management guru and proves it in her life. Seriously, I have been Laura’s fan for years and reading her blog and listening to her podcasts The Best of Both Worlds and Before Breakfast Podcast is helping me so much seeing the pockets of time that can be used for things I want to do rather than mindlessly wasting them. And I saw two examples of what she is teaching right there at the session. Not all the family members were present in the beginning of the session. Everyone knows that there are ALWAYS individual photos of each family member and small groupings photos that happen at some point of time. Then other family members just need to wait until their turn. Well, Laura organized it so perfectly that some kids were photographed while others were being driven from a kid activity. The same thing happened at the end of the session. When we have done all the full family groupings, a few members were dismissed to go to a birthday party while a few more photos were finished up. Such brilliant and effective way to use everyone’s time.
It was so great seeing the family, and how everyone is growing and changing and how they are excited for the new baby to join them within just a few months. And I am super excited for Laura’s family from a personal perspective obviously, as well as professional! I am so looking forward to even more wisdom that she will discover and share with the world after this change in their family.
